Nalpeiron and Reprise couldn't be more different. Nalpeiron pioneered the first mainstream cloud-based licensing platform in 2005, while Reprise was built by the old FlexLM team to make a better FlexLM product, one based on premise without any cloud offering. One based on 1980s technology and Zentitle being based on cloud computing from day one.

FlexLM derived old style manual licensing is not ideal for enterprise clients - nor is being owned by another software company FogSoftware, this means their is no real focus on the space that's required for real innovation and future proofed solutions. The older technology stack doesn't work well with modern cloud software, VMs, docker containers and SaaS models.

Reprise has lost many key staff after acquisition and also suffers from a lack of singular focus for a small company being part of Fog Software.
